EPISODE 1
MY ASSESSMENT LIST
Name of FS Student: Jenalyn T. Lumauig
Course: BSE
Resource Teacher: Mr.
Limon Lauro, Mr. Felicisimo Alcaraz, Ms. Perla Turibio
Cooperating School: Isabela National High School
My Target
At
the end of this activity, you will be competent in identifying and naming
different assessment methods used in the classroom.
My Task
·
Observe at least three classes and make
a list of the assessment methods used by teachers.
·
In my list, classify assessment
methods as to conventional and authentic and alternative.
·
Describe how each assessment method
was used, including my personal observations.
·
Confer with my FS teacher for the
assessment list.
·
Reflect on my experience.
My Tools
As you visit
schools and observe assessment practices in at least three classes, document
your observations using the activity forms provided for you in this reference.
For your pen-and-paper test items, customize a table of specification, and
prepare the test material based on the prescriptions of the school where you do
class observation.

DESCRIPTION
(Bulleted description of how the
assessment method is used relative to subject matter, levels of learning
behaviour, length, etc.)

Project Based assessment
|
● the teacher first discuss about the
lesson and the procedure and its importance of the wood painting. Later, he
will ask the students to provide their own materials. With this his learners
will now make their own according to the levels of their understanding. One
thing that is good with the project based assessment is that the students
will use their creativity to make the required output. Another is that the
teacher can now measure the behaviours of the students through their work, if
the student is patient and have a good workmanship.

●the teacher will ask the students to
report first about the procedures of baking or cooking of the foods. Then
later the students will do the cooking or baking. The teacher stays at the side
of each group then observe how these students use their knowledge to finish
their work. She also looks at the behaviour of the students on how they work
with their group mates. After they
bake or cook, the teacher now will now give a grade to each group with the
use of rubrics to be fair in assessing.
●the one hour allotted time for

Analysis
1.
Was there a variety of assessment
methods used by the teacher? How relevant was/were the assessment method/s
used?
Having a variety of assessment method
could give a validity in your assessment, i mean if the teacher assess the
project of the student he will now have to ask the students on how did they do
it, another is that he observe the student if they do their work patiently. Now
base on my observation the teacher uses a variety of assessment method to give
a grade on the output of each student.
The assessment method was relevant in
such the output of the students have a rubrics to give a grade on it. It is
important to have a rubric because this will prove that you have a basis on
assessing the work of each group. The rubric was presented publicly to all the
student so they wont wonder on how the teacher arrive in that grade.
2.
Do you think the expected students’
learning behaviours indicated in the objectives were properly and appropriately
assessed through those assessment methods?
For me yes the
indicated learning objective was achieved with the use of that type of learning
assessment used. Base again on my observation, teacher Limon have to check now
the project of each student then after that he now ask question on how does the
student do his project and ask what will the student do with that project after
he will give back it. The cognitive was achieved in terms of asking the student
about the project, the affective was achieved by asking what will now the
student do with finish project then lastly the psychomotor was achieved during
the process of making their project.
My Reflections
Using a different
type of assessment method could give you a better idea on assessing the work of
each group. It is also important to stay beside the students while having their
work because with that you can see the performance and workmanship of each
student if they are patient on making their activity or not. It is also
important to have a rubric on assessing the work of each student because these
will give a fair basis on assessing them. It is also important to make your
class alive by cracking some jokes so that the class will be free from boredom,
just like what teacher Alcaraz did during his discussion. He make sure that his
student are alive in listening and making their activity. Teacher Limon also
have his own strategy to make sure that the project of his student was really
made by them by asking again the student on how they made it and what are the
materials they used. Teacher Turibio also check on how this student will behave
during the activity.
